2 Check-in
We have provided a key box/locker for you at the entrance of the building. The code you need to open this box and where to find it will be sent to you on the day of arrival via a message. Once you have received this message, you can access the property. You can decide your own arrival time and don't need to stress about adhering to a fixed schedule. Check-in is available from 4 PM at the latest. If our cleaning team finishes earlier, you will of course receive the code to enter earlier as well.

3 Parking

At certain times of the year, you can still park for free in Koksijde. To ensure that you can park for free during your stay, it is recommended to check this link, as this period may vary each year and depends on school holidays. All this information can also be found on the parking meter itself, located 20m from the property.

TIPS
  • It’s always best to get a day ticket.
  • The parking in front of the apartment’s entrance is located in a purple zone.

5 Waste

Strict monitoring is enforced, and immediate GAS fines are issued if caught dumping waste illegally. WHERE CAN YOU DISPOSE OF YOUR WASTE?

HOW TO DISPOSE OF YOUR WASTE
  1. Take your waste to the Environmental Point. Do this between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
  2. Driving a car? Turn off your engine during your visit.
  3. Sort correctly and use the appropriate container.
  4. Residual waste is subject to a fee. The use of the regulatory trash bag is no longer mandatory here, as it was at the former semi-underground collection point (molok).
  5. Go to the payment terminal and follow the on-screen steps.
  6. Pay with your bank card or through your banking app.
  7. After payment, the hatch of the residual waste container will open, allowing you to deposit your trash bag.
  8. Close the hatch.
  9. Double-check that you haven’t forgotten anything before leaving.

6 WIFI
No hassle with uppercase and lowercase letters. You’ll find a QR code in the property that takes care of this for you. Just scan it, and you’re connected.

7 Energy and heating
Make yourself at home, as energy is a valuable resource even during your vacation. Keep it cozy and warm. Enjoy the warm water flowing over your body. But make sure that when you're done or about to leave, everything is completely switched off, including all the lights. Want to ventilate during your stay? Do this while you're present, and not when you leave for a long trip with the heating running at full capacity.

8 Kitchen

The kitchen doesn’t really hold many secrets. Everything seems almost self-explanatory. Of course, there may always be small doubts. Here are a few possible answers.

  • No matches are needed to light the stove.
  • Press a button down and turn.
  • Has a glass, plate, or cup broken? Let us know. These things happen, and this way, we can provide a replacement for the next guests.
  • The fridge cools adequately 99% of the time when set to 2. Raising it higher really isn’t necessary. This would only make the cooling element activate more often, reducing its efficiency, and you might feel the need to set it even higher. This creates a vicious cycle.

9 Safety
  • In case of emergency, you can always call 112.
  • The address is Rousseaulaan 5  appartement 0203.
  • The nearest hospital is AZ West in Veurne.
  • A fire blanket is located in the kitchen on the cupboards.
  • A fire extinguisher is located in the storage room between the kitchen and the bathroom.
  • Call the owner. You can find the number at the top of this page.

10 Public transport
TRAM
  • The nearest tram stop: Lejeunelaan.
  • Install the "De Lijn" app on your phone and purchase your tickets before taking the tram.
  • You can always take a bicycle on the tram (and only cycle back with the wind at your back 😉).
  • A ticket is valid for 1 hour. This should normally be enough to get to Ostend or the station in Adinkerke (Plopsaland).
TRAIN

DO NOT GET OFF AT KOKSIJDE STATION

Always get off at Adinkerke. A tram will always be waiting there to take you to Koksijde.

11 Bicycle parking
It is possible to park your bicycle in the garage beneath the building.
The most important thing: the keys. You must always have them with you when going to the basement. Otherwise, you won't be able to use the elevator.
Equally important: never leave bicycles in the garage section, but behind one of the doors (where other bicycles are stored). There are bitter people in the building who won't hesitate to damage bicycles left in the wrong place.
HOW TO BRING YOUR BICYCLES TO THE BASEMENT?
Via the ramp to the right of the building.
HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE BASEMENT?
  • Only via the elevator, level -1.
  • Once there, you can press one of the buttons to open the garage gate and place the bicycles inside. Afterward, you can exit via the ramp or the elevator. But in any case... no key, no access.
  • It might seem a little complicated, and that's because it is... but there just isn't a simpler way.

PS You can also take your bicycle on the tram, for example, to go to Ostend and ride back home with the wind at your back... or cycle to Ostend and take the tram home.

12 Day of departure

This always comes too soon, but we’d like to ask a few things. It would be nice to follow these guidelines before your departure.

  • Gather bed linens and (used) towels and place them in the laundry basket found in the bathroom.
  • Collect and dispose of waste. Use the badge attached to the keys for this.
  • Send a message upon leaving, so the cleaning team knows they can come.
  • Turn off the heating.
  • Turn off the lights.
  • Put the keys back in the locker and set the code to 0000.
  • Please do not leave the dishes wet.

13 Pets
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed, and we cannot make any exceptions—not even for the sweetest or smallest pet. This policy is in place to ensure that future guests, especially those with allergies, can enjoy their stay without concerns. We hope for your understanding and thank you for your cooperation!

14 Smoking and vaping
We have a strict no-smoking policy.

15 Toilet

Never panic. This toilet likes to add a bit of excitement.

But so far, it has never been clogged during normal use. It is a type of toilet that is not very common, but it is highly effective against odors from other toilets.

The toilet will first fill up almost completely... then suddenly, a valve opens, and everything is flushed away quickly and neatly.
